Tabia – Town
The northern border town of Tabia, mostly traders, herdsmen, and small businessmen, is large enough to have a few inns, a few main roads, and most shops or supplies that may be needed. It isn’t large enough to have walls or a city watch, though the soldiers from the border outpost a few miles out are a short ride away. There are many soldiers in town for the taverns and brothels on most nights.
A large church with a tall bell tower stands over the eastern end of town. A yellow flag flies from the building bearing the symbol of a goblet with an open eye above it. The townspeople are tolerant of the new religion. Most followers of High Priestess Justicia live on the church grounds and are fanatical followers of The One Goddess.
-More and more people are getting sick in Tabia and other border towns with Nightmare Sickness. Wealthy local merchant Noren Hylan’s daughter has it, and most people know someone who is afflicted. No one knows what causes it, it is rumored to come from the jungle.
-Local soldiers are nervous about some higher up official said to be on his way to Tabia for inspections of the border outpost.
-Magic-users are said to be going missing or found dead. People are saying that the Followers of The One Goddess may have something to do with it.
